John Ternus runs Apple now. Not officially. Tim Cook still cashes the CEO checks. But Ternus controls product development and the Investing Club just figured out he has a vision. They like it. They wrote a whole thing about it in their afternoon newsletter for people who panic-trade during the last hour.
The vision remains unspecified. The article does not say what Ternus actually plans to do. Could be thinner phones. Could be thicker phones. Could be phones that fold or phones that refuse to fold out of principle. The Investing Club sees the future and the future looks like a guy at Apple having thoughts about products.
Retail traders will now spend six hours researching Ternus. They will read his college thesis. They will find his LinkedIn endorsements from 2011. They will calculate his caffeine intake based on the Apple Park cafe receipt leak that never happened. Then they will buy call options because a headline told them someone has a vision.
Apple stock moved on this information the same way a mountain moves when you sneeze at it. The chart looks identical to yesterday. Volume sits exactly where it always sits. But the vision is coming into view which means absolutely nothing is coming into view but we are supposed to act like it matters.
Ternus could announce Apple will only make products in the shape of trapezoids and the stock would trade flat. He could say the next iPhone will run on coal. Flat. He could replace all Lightning cables with yarn. Flat. None of this is product news. This is a man existing near products while retail traders add AAPL to seventeen different watchlists they will never check again.
The Investing Club releases this newsletter every weekday just in time for you to make the worst decision possible before the bell.
