Congress Schedules Routine Nothing for Two Years

Democrats won the House. They plan to investigate Trump. They will use hearings. They will use subponas. They will use document requests. This is what happens when one party controls investigative power and hates the guy in charge.

The market does not care. It never cared. Your portfolio doesn't know what a subpoena is. Your calls expire worthless because you bought them on a hunch, not because Nancy Pelosi requested documents from some entity in Trump's orbit. Whatever that means.

Senior Democrats discussed this, according to sources. Sources always say things. Sources have never been wrong about anything. Sources told me retail traders would learn risk management by now, and yet here we are.

This is political theater converted into financial headlines so you'll click on them during your lunch break and feel informed. You are not informed. You are reading about congressional procedures that will take eighteen months to produce a report nobody reads. The S&P moved 0.3% that day for completely unrelated reasons, but some intern at a wire service wrote this up anyway because content quotas don't fill themselves.

Trump's orbit. That's the phrase they used. His orbit. Like he's a planet. Like there's a gravitational field of limited liability corporations and golf courses spinning around him in elliptical patterns. Jupiter has seventy-nine moons. Trump has how many? Nobody knows. That's why they need the hearings.

Retail traders read this headline and thought it meant something. They opened their brokerage apps. They looked at financial sector ETFs. They convinced themselves this was actionable intelligence. Then they bought shares of a company that makes subpoenas, which doesn't exist, because subpoenas are just pieces of paper, but they bought something anyway because doing nothing felt worse than being wrong.

The investigation will take years and cost millions and conclude that politicians don't like each other, which you could have learned for free by watching five minutes of C-SPAN or talking to literally anyone.
