KNDS makes tanks. Now they want to sell shares during a defense selloff. The logic checks out if you hate money.

Paris and Frankfurt get the listings. Two exchanges means twice the opportunity to watch retail idiots buy at the top. Current shareholders will dump 20% of their holdings on whoever shows up that day. This is what professionals call an exit strategy. What they call it when you buy is liquidity provision.

Defense stocks are selling off across Europe. KNDS looked at this trend and thought perfect timing. Their bankers nodded enthusiastically because bankers get paid whether the stock goes up or crashes into a ditch. The fee structure does not include a performance bonus tied to your portfolio six months later.

Tankmakers go public when tank stocks are falling. Tech companies IPO at the peak. Fitness startups list right before everyone cancels their memberships. There is a pattern here but pointing it out makes you a pessimist.

The prospectus will be 300 pages. Page 47 will mention geopolitical risk. Page 183 will note market timing considerations. Neither page will say we are selling now because we know something you do not. That would be rude.

Retail will buy anyway. They always do. The thesis will be something about defense spending and NATO commitments. The chart will show a line going up and to the right. The brokerage app will send a notification with a little rocket emoji.

KNDS builds vehicles designed to survive artillery fire. Their stock will not have the same feature. But the shares will trade in two countries, which means you can watch your investment lose value in both euros and euros simultaneously, depending on which exchange you check first.

Current shareholders selling 20% of their position during a sector selloff is called smart money for a reason. The reason is they are selling to you.
