Peppers went bad. Peppers went into salsa. Salsa went to stores. Stores put salsa on shelves. You bought the salsa. Now you might shit yourself to death because a vegetable failed quality control somewhere in Central California. This is the system working as intended, apparently.
The recall notice doesn't specify which peppers or how many units got pulled. It also doesn't explain why we've engineered a food distribution network so complex that one bad batch of jalapeños triggers a cascade failure across multiple product lines in seventeen states. But sure, let's all keep pretending just-in-time inventory management was a good idea.
Retail traders saw the news and immediately started scanning their portfolios for exposure to fresh produce ETFs. They found none because they're too busy bagholding semiconductor stocks they bought at all-time highs after watching a YouTube video titled "Why AI Will Make You Rich." The salmonella can't hurt them. They're already dead inside.
