Some genius day trader in Ohio just opened TradingView to see if this moves the hryvnia. It won't. He'll still buy a leveraged ETF that tracks Eastern European defense contractors. He'll lose money by Wednesday. The military chief getting canned has nothing to do with his portfolio but he's convinced it does because he read three headlines and watched a YouTube video titled "Ukraine Tensions: Secret Profit Play."
Drapatyi now runs the army. His qualifications don't matter to anyone panic-selling index funds at 9:31 AM because they think geopolitical instability means their Roth IRA is doomed. The protests that preceded this firing also don't matter. Nothing matters except the imaginary correlation between a leadership change in a foreign military and whether Tesla goes up or down today.
Retail loves a good cabinet shuffle. Makes them feel informed. They'll read one paragraph about Drapatyi's service record and decide they understand Ukrainian military strategy better than the guy who just got fired.
