Anthropic has not gone public yet. Traders already bought the shadow of the idea.
The pitch is simple. Find stocks near the AI company, buy them, and call it research. A proxy play. Like betting on the guy who sat next to the lottery winner at lunch.
Which stocks? Anyone with a cloud contract, a chip order, or a press release with the word "partner" in it. Amazon. Alphabet. Companies that sell Anthropic servers and, I assume, sandwiches.
Let's run the numbers. Amazon is worth trillions. Anthropic is a rounding error on its balance sheet, or a very large mistake. Either way, you own a sliver of a sliver. That's not a thesis. That's a rumor with a brokerage login.
Retail traders love this move. They can't buy the real thing yet, so they buy its cousin. It's the dating equivalent of texting your ex's roommate.
The chart says what charts always say. Line goes up when people want it to. Line goes down when they own it. I've studied this pattern for years and have nothing to add.
Traders are buzzing. Buzzing is what flies do near things that have stopped moving.
When the IPO prices, the proxies will dump, and you will tell your spouse it was a hedge.
