CrowdStrike CEO Predicts Breaches. CrowdStrike Stock Rises. Coincidence?

George Kurtz says breaches are coming. The man sells breach protection. Weather forecaster predicts rain, owns umbrella factory.

On Friday he told CNBC the PHP flaw touches tens of millions of internet-facing servers. He warned of "a lot of breaches happening in the coming months." Patches arrived Wednesday. Many servers still run outdated versions. Nobody updated anything. Nobody ever does.

CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks were the Investing Club's winners on the day and for the week. Doom is a growth sector.

Kurtz also said AI-powered attacks CrowdStrike observed doubled each month from July through September. Double that for three months and you get eight times the problem. That is the only math I trust, because it ends in a sales pitch.

Meanwhile, the sell-off spread. The Dow fell more than 1% as defensive stocks joined the weak AI trade. Defensive stocks. The ones people buy so they can sleep. They are now awake and sweating.

WTI crude topped $103 on Middle East tensions. The Fed may hike a second time this year after September's first hike in three years. Your margin account heard this and did what it always does. It wrote a will.

Retail traders will read "alarming prediction" and buy CrowdStrike at the top. Then the breaches will arrive on schedule, the stock will drop on a "sell the news" candle, and they will blame the PHP developers.

I have a chart. It says support at the price where you panic.

The servers will be hacked. Your portfolio will be fine. Nobody wants it.
