Fanatics Remixes Hometowns, Charges Premium Prices For The Hometown Part

Fanatics now designs jerseys for all 32 NHL teams. Nobody asked the hometowns.

The program is called Hometown Remix. The name sounds like a DJ set at a Buffalo Wild Wings. The jerseys are real, though. Fanatics says ,it's the first full 32-team special edition program it designed and developed since becoming the League's on-ice uniform partner in 2024.,

It took two years. Two years of meetings. Somewhere a man with a lanyard said "hyperlocal" out loud and got a nod.

Check the details. ,The Rangers get Lady Liberty over the heart., Subtle. New York has been waiting years for someone to remind it that it has a statue. ,The Oilers get a slick, black, oil aesthetic., Edmonton sits on oil. Fanatics put oil on the jersey. Take the rest of the afternoon off, Dom.

That's Dom Fillion, Fanatics' VP of Creative Design. He called it ,"the most exciting initiative our team has designed and delivered", since the NHL deal began. Most exciting. In a company whose catalog includes the practice jersey.

Buffalo dug up the goat head. ,The Sabres brought back the logo from their 2022-23 Reverse Retro jersey, now with the original blue, white and gold., So the remix is a remix of a remix. Fanatics has invented the photocopy of a photocopy and charged for the toner.

The launch film is called ,"The Fabric of Your Town, Unlocked.", Unlocked. Jerseys are not locked. They hang on racks. A teenager folds them.

Fanatics exec Low Ah Kee says the company is ,"singularly responsible and accountable", for the design. Accountable is a bold word. Remember it when the Utah Mammoth jersey arrives and somebody has to answer for it.

The jerseys get worn ,during select 2026-27 games, while the NHL and Fanatics evaluate fan response for future programs., That's you. You are the focus group, and you pay $230 for the privilege. That's the ,"Premium" tier price from the 2024 launch,, so check your local tag before you cry.

Fanatics is private. No ticker, no chart, nothing for you to ruin. Retail traders will still find a way to build a thesis around goat head merchandise.

Buy the jersey. It's the only position you own that will ever have a logo on it.
