Goldman Sachs Rotates From One Thing You Don't Understand to Another

Goldman Sachs looked at Chinese healthcare stocks and decided these are the thing to buy after AI stops working. Not if AI stops working. After. They've already moved on.

The thesis goes like this: Chinese stocks tracked by Goldman grew earnings at the fastest quarterly pace in five years, so naturally you should pile into healthcare companies right as the AI trade everyone pretended to understand for eighteen months finally dies. This assumes you timed the AI trade correctly, which you didn't. You bought Nvidia at the top after watching a YouTube video called "AI Stocks EXPLODING (Not Clickbait)."

Goldman wants you in Chinese healthcare now. Same bank that tells you what to buy after their clients already bought it. Same bank that publishes research for free because they love you so much and definitely not because they need someone to take the other side of their trades.

The beautiful part is calling this a post-AI trade, as if AI is over. As if the technology just wraps up like a limited series. Season finale of artificial intelligence. Everyone goes home. But Goldman needs a new story to sell and Chinese healthcare earnings went up, so here's your new thing to lose money on while pretending you did research.

Five-year high in quarterly earnings growth sounds impressive until you remember what Chinese stocks were doing five years ago. Then you realize the bar was underground.

Retail traders will read "Goldman picks" and think it's a good idea to follow, which is like seeing someone jump off a bridge and asking what time they're doing it again tomorrow so you can join them. Goldman picks stocks the way a sommelier picks wine: for someone else's table, at someone else's price point, in a restaurant you can't afford.

The post-AI trade is here, which means the during-AI trade f*cked you, and this one will too.
