Hillary Clinton Endorses Paid Holiday; Markets Remain Closed to Reason

The Atlanta Dream reached the WNBA Finals. The WNBA scheduled Game 6 for Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET. Original start time: 8 p.m. The Atlanta Hawks needed the building.

The Dream's owners wrote an open letter. ,They suggested perhaps it was assumed the Dream would not make it this far., Brutal. Also the most honest thing any front office has said all year.

Enter Flavor Flav. ,He declared Thursday a paid holiday, because Flavor Flav said so., He attached a template excuse letter. Blank space for your name. Legally binding in no jurisdiction on Earth.

Then Hillary Clinton weighed in. ,She wrote: "I endorse this message.", A former Secretary of State co-signed a note from the man who wears a clock around his neck. Diplomacy has seen worse.

Consider the labor market implications. None. I checked. Your boss does not answer to a hype man. Your boss answers to a quarterly deck and a vague fear of Gary from HR.

Some of you will print the note anyway. You will walk it into a Thursday morning meeting. You will hand it to a regional manager named Todd. Todd will laugh. Then he will schedule a call for 12:30.

The same crowd that bought a meme coin because a dog looked confident will now try to expense a basketball game. Same energy. Same outcome.

Fans will pay for the tickets, though. ,The game sold out., Midday. On a weekday. The market has spoken, and for once it said something smart.

My charts say nothing about any of this. They never do. But a rapper and a former presidential nominee just agreed on something, and you still cannot get Thursday off.
