Interpol Announces Hackers Now Faster at Stealing Nothing

Interpol says AI makes cyberattacks faster and harder to detect. Filed under things that help literally nobody trading at 9:37 AM on a Wednesday.

The warning comes from an Interpol executive who apparently spent valuable time explaining that criminals using better tools become better criminals. Revolutionary stuff. Next they'll tell us guns shoot faster with upgraded triggers.

Companies now face risks from "agentic AI" which is what we're calling AI that does things on its own. Because regular AI that sits there doing nothing presented zero risks whatsoever.

Here's what this means for your portfolio: absolutely f*cking nothing. Your shares of whatever dogsh*t semiconductor company you bought at the top are not moving because Interpol issued a warning. They're not moving because nobody wants them.

The part they won't tell you is that most companies can't detect regular cyberattacks. The ones without AI. The ones launched by a guy named Kevin working from a Starbucks in Romania. Now those attacks are faster and you still can't detect them. Progress.

Retail traders will read this headline and immediately start searching for "AI cybersecurity stocks" like they're solving a puzzle. They're not. They're about to buy shares in a company that makes firewall software founded in 1997 that's been flat for eight years.

Interpol recommends companies "watch" for these new threats. Watch how, exactly? Stare at the server logs harder? Squint at the firewall reports? Maybe print them out and look at them under a blacklight?

The beautiful part about this warning is it changes nothing. Companies that took security seriously yesterday will take it seriously tomorrow. Companies that didn't will continue hosting their customer database on a server called BACKUP_FINAL_v3 with the password "Password123" until someone from Interpol personally drives to their office and unplugs it.

Your trading account got hacked because you clicked an email from "AppleSupportTeam@gmail.com" not because AI made hackers unstoppable.
