Jared Kushner Solves Middle East Between Real Estate Deals

Trump's envoys met with Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish mediators in Cairo while Israel strikes Gaza. Hamas officials attended some meetings with Jared Kushner. Your portfolio is still down 40% because you bought the dip on a meme stock seven times.

Kushner brings decades of experience in not solving the Middle East to this latest round of not solving the Middle East. The man who brought you the Abraham Accordsβ€”which famously included neither the Palestinians nor any reduction in violenceβ€”now returns for a sequel nobody asked for. Retail traders saw this headline and immediately bought calls on defense contractors, which would be smart except they bought them three weeks after the actual strike and paid 90% IV.

Hamas showed up to meetings. Mediators showed up to meetings. Kushner showed up to meetings. Israel kept striking Gaza during the meetings. This is diplomacy in the same way that your stop-loss order is risk management: technically it exists, but it's not doing what you think it's doing.

The meetings happened in Cairo because apparently that's where you go when you want to have meetings about meetings. Three different countries sent mediators because one mediator would be too efficient. Trump sent multiple envoys because why send one guy who won't accomplish anything when you can send several guys who won't accomplish anything.

Day traders looked at this geopolitical complexity and thought yeah, this is definitely going to resolve in the next four hours, better scalp some SPY options. They did not scalp SPY options successfully. They never do.

The summit continues. The strikes continue. Your losses continue. At least Kushner's getting frequent flyer miles.
