Twelve Hours in Tehran, Zero Hours in Your Portfolio

Qatari mediators sat in Tehran for more than 12 hours on Friday. Axios reported it. The goal: stop American-led attacks on Iran from restarting.

Twelve hours. No one has sat through twelve hours of anything and left with a clean deal. Not a wedding. Not a timeshare pitch. Not a Cheesecake Factory menu.

Picture the room. Tea goes cold. Someone says "let's circle back." Someone else has been circling back since lunch.

Qatar plays the host. Small country, huge gas reserves, and the one guest everybody agrees to invite. Doha is the friend who stays neutral in the group chat while the whole group chat is on fire.

The aim is to restart direct U.S.-Iran negotiations. Restart. Meaning they stopped. Meaning someone hit pause on diplomacy the way you hit pause on a gym membership.

Now the retail trader sees "talks" and buys oil calls. Sees "Tehran" and sells them. Sees "source says" and does both at once, with leverage, from a parked car.

You are not trading Qatari diplomacy. You are trading a rumor about a meeting, reported secondhand, about a deal that does not exist yet. That is not analysis. That is astrology with a brokerage login.

The chart doesn't care. The chart has never heard of Qatar. The chart drew a triangle last Tuesday and is still proud of it.

Diplomats spent twelve hours trying to prevent a war. You spent twelve hours refreshing a ticker that moved four cents.

One of you was productive, and the Iranians have a lot of tea left.
