White House Hires Woman Whose Job Was Defending Trump Media Stock

Katie Zacharia spent her career explaining why a stock that trades like a meme coin is actually a serious investment. Now she gets to explain why the president meant to say that thing he definitely didn't mean to say.

The qualifications transfer perfectly. Defending a company with negligible revenue and a market cap built on pure vibes? That's just press secretary training with extra steps.

Zacharia advised Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, a platform where the product is grievance and the business model is whatever keeps the SEC from asking too many questions. She helped position a stock that moves 40% on a single Truth post as a rational allocation for your retirement account.

Her previous job required her to keep a straight face while institutional investors dumped shares and retail bagholders refreshed their brokerage apps wondering why diamond hands don't show up on a balance sheet. The press secretary gig is basically the same thing except the bagholders are called voters and they can't sell for four years.

The White House gets someone who already knows how to spin catastrophic loss as strategic repositioning. Zacharia gets a podium and a salary that doesn't depend on whether the stock closes above $12.

Retail traders who bought DJT at $79 because they thought patriotism was a P/E ratio can take comfort knowing their losses funded the resume of America's next chief spokesperson. She learned from the best. You lost money. She got promoted. That's not irony. That's capitalism working exactly as designed.
