IPO pricing is not a science. It's a negotiation between bankers who want their fee and executives who want to pretend their sandwich empire is worth billions. They agreed on twenty-three. The market said twenty-one sixty-two. The market is also wrong but at least it's honest about being wrong.
Technical analysis says nothing here. The stock has one day of price history. You cannot draw a trendline through a single point. You can try. People do try. Those people own Jersey Mike's stock at twenty-three dollars.
First-day pops are propaganda. First-day drops are reality showing up on time. The company still makes the same sandwiches it made yesterday. The sandwiches cost the same. Taste the same. Generate the same revenue. But now some guy named Brandon is down four hundred dollars because he thought ticker symbols cure loneliness.
The stock will do whatever it does tomorrow. Then the next day. Then the day after that. None of it will have anything to do with bread quality or meat portions. All of it will have everything to do with people clicking buttons they don't understand while pretending they're investors instead of what they actually are: gamblers who chose the worst possible casino.
