Democrats might gain seats in Congress. Analysts say this could mean tougher oversight of major companies.

Oversight. Hearings. Subpoenas. A senator holding a printout of a chart, squinting.

Defense contractors are nervous. Healthcare companies are nervous. Crypto is nervous, which is its resting state. AI is nervous, but it's also valued at four trillion dollars, so it will cry in the car.

The summary says billions in federal spending could shift. Billions. Moving around. Like furniture in a house you don't own.

You own none of this. You own 11 shares of a healthcare ETF you bought because the ticker looked friendly.

Here is my technical read. The chart does not know there is an election. The chart has never voted. The chart has no opinion on subpoenas. It goes up, it goes down, and you invent a story about it afterward.

Retail traders will now rotate out of defense and into healthcare, then out of healthcare and into crypto, then out of crypto and into a podcast about macro. By Wednesday, you'll have paid four commissions to rearrange your own losses.

Wall Street strategists are writing notes titled things like "Gridlock Scenarios." Gridlock. The one thing Congress has never failed to deliver. Reliable. Consistent. Better uptime than your brokerage app.

Nobody knows how this plays out. The analysts don't. The senators don't. The guy on financial TV with the whiteboard definitely doesn't.

You'll still spend election night refreshing a ticker like it owes you money. It doesn't. It has never heard of you, and neither has Congress.
