SpaceX is private. You cannot buy the stock. The headline says "I'm buying the stock." No, you're not.
Unless you're an accredited investor with a spare half-million dollars sitting around for a secondary market transaction through EquityZen or some other platform where the shares trade at a valuation pulled directly from Elon's fever dreams. But you're not that person. That person doesn't read articles titled "Here's why I'm buying the stock." That person has a guy who has a guy.
The retail trader reading this headline just got catfished harder than a divorced dad on Tinder. They're Googling "SpaceX ticker symbol" right now. They're about to learn a valuable lesson about the difference between things that exist and things they wish existed. The Venn diagram of those two circles doesn't even touch.
Starlink is the cash cow apparently. Reusable rockets are the moat. Starship is the future. Cool. None of this information helps you because you still can't buy the f*cking stock. It's like telling a homeless guy about the amenities at Mar-a-Lago. Technically true. Completely useless.
The author of this piece is buying SpaceX stock the same way I'm buying a French chateau. In my mind. Where anything is possible and my credit score doesn't exist.
Here's what actually happened: Someone wrote "I'm buying the stock" in a headline about a private company to generate clicks from people who don't know SpaceX is private. Those people clicked. Those people are now mad. The author is now collecting their Motley Fool affiliate commission or whatever Faustian bargain funds this nonsense.
The real cash cow was the friends we made along the way by which I mean it's the ad revenue from tricking you into reading financial advice about a stock you cannot purchase.
