Billionaires Mad Billionaires Spent Money, Say Billionaires

Richard Branson felt embarrassed. Wednesday, on LinkedIn, he called for campaign finance reform. A man who owns a private island is scolding people for flexing.

Reid Hoffman went further. He wrote on X that we should get money out of politics. He then defended his own donations to Democrats. Money is a menace, except his, which is civic.

Elon Musk put $224 million into Texas. Texas elected Democrat James Talarico to the Senate anyway. Musk's total giving hit a record $474 million. That is a lot of money to spend on being told no by your own home state.

His reply was a joke about "election-interfering space lasers" failing. Funny. Forbes says he also lost $34.5 billion on the day. He is now the world's richest man with a very expensive sense of humor.

Alex Soros posted that the world changed yesterday. His family gave roughly $103 million to Democratic efforts. The world changed, and the receipt is public.

Bill Ackman said we can't slow down on AI. Nobody asked him to slow down on talking.

The Dow jumped more than 1,500 points. Big Tech added more than $750 billion in value at one point. Wall Street cheered. The billionaires lost the election and the market gave them a gift basket.

Jeff Bezos gained $13.7 billion. He did not post anything. He did not need to.

Retail traders watched all of this and concluded the Dow's 1,500-point rip meant they were geniuses. They were not. They were bystanders at a yacht crash, cheering the splash.

Spend half a billion dollars, lose, then ask for reform. Tell the jury it was the money's fault.
