AARP polled voters. Voters said helping family caregivers matters. Congress will now hold a hearing about it and then do nothing.
Caregiving costs thousands. Out of pocket. For adult relatives. You pay for Dad's pills. You pay for Mom's ramp. You pay with the savings you meant to lose on options.
AARP says this could sway midterm voters in competitive House races. A competitive House race is where two people spend nine million dollars to fight over a Dunkin' parking lot.
Here is the market read. Caregiver tax credit: bullish. Respite care: bullish. Your Aunt Linda's third hip: structurally unsound, much like your portfolio.

Politicians will now say "sandwich generation" on television. It's a lunch metaphor for people being crushed between two bills. Nobody has ever been helped by a sandwich metaphor.
My chart shows a support level at roughly one empty promise. It broke in 2019. It broke in 2022. It will break again in November.
